Jim MacCulloch gifted a gold pocket watch to Annie MacLean in 1904, with the promise that she would be his bride one day. In 1908, while Jim was developing his land claim, Annie sent a letter to Jim, in Alberta, reminding him that she wasn’t willing to wait any longer. Jim hurried back home to Glengarry, presented Annie with an engagement ring, then returned to his farm to prepare a home for his bride.

Annie traveled, by train, with her friend, Katie McCormick, to Strome, Alberta in the spring of 1909 where she and Jim were married on April 19 in a double wedding ceremony with Katie and John Angus McDonell, who was also working with Jim in the West.

While living on their farm in Alberta, Jim and Annie welcomed Huetta (1910), Catherine (1912), Stennetta (1913), Wilfrid (1915), Howard (1917), and baby Leo (1919). At that time, Annie was in frail health and Jim decided to take his family back to Glengarry, Ontario, nearer to the support of their extended family.
After settling on Roselane Farm, on the Glen Roy Road, four more children were added to the family; Donald (1921), Alexander (1923), Clifford (1925), and John Allan (1928).

This year, the centennial of the marriage of James and Annie MacCulloch, seemed a fitting time for grandson David, son of Howard, to design a website that would inaugurate an interactive forum for current news and/or blogs among the remaining three children, the remaining thirty-five grandchildren (four have died), eighty-eight great-grandchildren, many great-greats and as of now, one great-great-great grandson!

It is the plan and hope of the website administrators that You, members of the great MacCulloch clan, with the help of the links, will acquaint yourselves with the history of our family, with current relatives and will share news of your families so that we remain in touch, in spite of distance and the busyness of our lives…
